ASPARAGUS RECIPE: Roasted Parmesan Asparagus

Roasted Parmesan Asparagus

Roasted Parmesan Asparagus
This Garlic Parmesan Roasted Asparagus dish requires only a handful of basic ingredients and makes an ideal side for any meal. Tender yet crisp asparagus is seasoned with salt and pepper, then drizzled with olive oil, garlic, and parmesan cheese before being roasted in the oven. This method is the BEST for preparing asparagus!

Asparagus ranks among my favorite vegetables. It’s the ideal accompaniment for almost any dish and shows up regularly (nearly every week) at our dinner table. This simple asparagus dish is how I’ve prepared it for many years, and it has received great feedback since I first shared it more than eight years ago!

There are numerous methods for preparing asparagus; you can steam it, grill it, sauté it, and more. However, the simplest method, and my favorite, is roasting asparagus in the oven.

There’s an enchanting quality that occurs when you place tender-crisp asparagus in the oven and roast it flawlessly. Roasting highlights the natural sweetness of this asparagus dish while reducing any bitterness as well.

This method is quite straightforward, but it enhances the nutty, rich tastes and introduces a delightful crispy texture.
Garlic and parmesan rank among my favorite components to include in nearly any savory dish, so including them in this baked asparagus recipe was an obvious choice. Add a bit of salt and pepper, then spray with olive oil and you're all set to bake!

Components for Roasted Asparagus

Select asparagus that is vibrant in color and features tightly closed tips with either a green or purple hue. More recommendations for selecting the ideal bunch of asparagus are provided below!

Salt and black pepper – utilize freshly cracked pepper and adjust the salt to your liking. I use quite a bit of seasoning on mine.

Fresh Garlic – you'll require 3-4 cloves of freshly chopped garlic.

Cheese – I suggest using freshly grated parmesan cheese. It pairs perfectly with the nutty taste of the asparagus.

Olive oil spray – it assists in adhering everything to the asparagus. You may opt for a splash of olive oil in place of the spray.

Ingredients

1 1/2 pounds fresh asparagus

2 tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil

a half teaspoon of seasoned salt

1/2 teaspoon garlic pepper seasoning

1/2 tsp dried oregano leaves

2 tbsp Parmesan cheese, shredded

Instructions

1 Preheat the oven to 425°F. Coat a 15x10x1-inch baking pan with cooking spray. Wash the asparagus and cut off the tough ends where the stalks snap easily. Peel the spears' stems if desired.Lemon-butter-pasta-with-artichokes-and.

2 Combine remaining ingredients, except the cheese, in a shallow bowl; toss with asparagus to coat. Spread in the pan.

3 Cook for 10 minutes, uncovered. Toss with the cheese to coat. 5 to 8 minutes longer, or until asparagus is crisp-tender, roast uncovered. Enjoy it !!!

Suggestions and Observations

I arrange my roasted asparagus on the same baking sheet that it cooks on. I can't tolerate additional dishes to clean, so if a recipe offers a shortcut, I take it! Simply use a baking sheet with edges and line it with aluminum foil or parchment. It will also simplify the cleanup process.

The optimal method to keep asparagus is standing in a bowl or broad glass of cold water in the refrigerator. If you lack space for this technique, you can alternatively cover the bottom of your asparagus with a moist paper towel prior to placing it in the fridge. This will keep your asparagus fresh and crunchy.

To enhance the flavor of your asparagus, squeeze some lemon juice on it prior to roasting.

Avoid overcooking it! I enjoy cooking my asparagus for approximately 8-9 minutes. If you cook it longer than that, the asparagus becomes too mushy for my taste. I prefer it to be slightly firm and not soft.

Keep leftovers in a sealed container in the refrigerator for as long as three days.
